Pre-Holiday News That Isn't News

Posted December 17, 2012 @ 9:52am | by Skogen

Well, we've managed to collect a couple of days off before the holidays and we've decided to fill them both with gravel roads. As we type this morning, we're waiting for Drew Wilson to pick us up and show us a sample of his new Dickie Scramble course. His route will take us down into the hills and valleys that sit just south and east of Plainview, MN. We've ridden down there a bit and are looking forward to seeing just what he has up his sleeve.

Tomorrow, Alexander awaits. We'replanning to get back in the truck and hit the road early. We'll skip over the first portion that includes a lot of roads we're very familiar with and get right into the unknown roads south and east of Harmony. From there we'll head onward toward the Mississippi River and through the hills of Wisconsin's Driftless Region. Eventually we'll head back across the river at Prairie Du Chien. Once across we'll navigate more hills, valleys and twists until we roll through Decorah, Iowa and eventually back home.

This is our only chance to see the bulk of the course before we officially announce any kind of entry to it. As per usual, we wouldn't want to ask anything of anyone without a decent amount of prior knowledge...so, we'll take the time, drive the 500 miles and make sure that it's at least possible. A little later in the year (think April), we'll mount up and ride the whole thing to make sure it's dialed. After all, if we don't ride it, why should you?

At any rate, here's hoping your holidays are wonderful!
